Where it lives
On a server in Mumbai, India. Course work, accounts and community posts are kept there.
One sign-in
One account signs you in to every tool. Passwords are held in one place, the sign-in service, and not by each tool separately.
Backups
- A full backup every night.
- A second copy kept away from the server, at IIT Bombay.
- Every week, a backup is restored on a separate machine and checked – a backup is only as good as its last restore.
Community is for members
Member profiles, groups and forums are visible only to people who are signed in.
Privacy
What is kept, why, and for how long: see the privacy policy. Videos are embedded in privacy mode, and the site loads its fonts from its own server.
Built on open software
WordPress, LifterLMS, BuddyPress and bbPress for the course site; Forgejo and Woodpecker for GIDhub; Penpot, Excalidraw and Open WebUI for the studio tools; authentik for sign-in.
In development
Publishing this platform’s own code under an open licence (AGPL) is in preparation.
