How a session works

Every session follows the rhythm of a physical design studio: not a list of tasks, but a deepening of attention.

  1. BriefRead the challenge. Say your first instinct before you look anything up.
  2. ObserveGather references and look closely: line, proportion, rhythm, tension. Seeing comes before judging.
  3. MakePut something down – a sketch, a layout, a model. Work in progress is the point.
  4. CritDescribe, then analyse, then interpret, and only then evaluate. In that order.
  5. ReflectName what shifted your thinking: a reference, a comment, a material decision.
  6. IterateTake the next version back to the brief. The work keeps its history.

The crit, in order

A crit moves through four steps and does not skip ahead: describe what is there, analyse how it is put together, interpret what it means, and only then evaluate it. Judgement comes last, after looking.

In development
An AI assistant that supports each stage – asking the opening question, holding the crit to its order – is in development. Today, sessions run with teachers and peers.
